The Survey component asks several questions that share the same answer scale, shown as a grid: one row per question and one column per answer. Use it for ratings such as satisfaction surveys or course evaluations.
Set up a survey
-
Drag a Survey component onto the form.
-
On the Display tab, under Questions, add each question with a Label (shown) and a Value (saved), for example The course content was relevant /
relevant. -
Under Values, add the answer scale, for example Disagree /
1, Neutral /2, Agree /3. The labels become the column headings. -
Save and test the form.
How answers are saved
The answer is saved as one value per question, keyed by the question's value. For a survey courseSurvey where the user agrees the content was relevant and is neutral on pace:
{ "relevant": "3", "pace": "2" }
Answers are saved as text, even when the values are numbers. In scripts, read one answer with data.courseSurvey.relevant, and use Number(...) before doing arithmetic, for example to average the scores.
Settings
Besides Questions and Values, Survey has Default Value, Inline Layout and Required. See Common Component Settings.
