The Typed Signature component lets users sign by typing their name. As they type, a signature-style preview of their name appears above the field. Use it when a drawn signature isn't needed but you want more than a plain text field.
This component requires GlobalForms version 10.7.1 or greater.
How it works
-
The typed name is stored as plain text in the submission, like a Text Field.
-
A preview of the name in a script-style font appears above the field as the user types. Before anything is typed, the preview shows the placeholder text.
-
The signature-style text appears in PDF snapshots. It is not available in mapped PDFs.

Choose a font
The preview can only use fonts installed on the user's device. The default, cursive, uses the device's own script font, so the preview looks a little different on Windows, Mac and phones.
To prefer specific fonts, list them in Font Family with cursive last as a fallback, for example:
"Segoe Script", "Brush Script MT", "Lucida Handwriting", cursive
Each user's device uses the first font in the list that it has.
