They only mapping is a great tool use when you want to use a form to collect data from a user, but don't actually need a form generated. You can use the collected data to populate a database or export from GlobalCapture as a spreadsheet.
When using data only mapping, no output form is produced, only a blank page.
Using Data Only Mapping
To create a Data Only Mapping, click the Data Only Mapping button in the toolbar.
A blank designer canvas will display, and components can be dragged to the design surface in exactly the same manner as with PDF Mapping. The are key differences between Data Only Mapping and other types of mapping.
-
With Data Only Mapping, only the fields that will be used as data points in the capture process need to be mapped and set with Output Fields.
-
The layout and positioning of components on the design surface is not relevant since no document is generated. You can layout and position elements as you see fit, but this is only a design time display.
-
While all panes of the selected field(s) are available, many of them will have no impact on the process since no visual document is generated. The only relevant pane is the Options pane.
