A mapping places submitted form data onto a PDF document. GlobalCapture uses the mapping to turn each submission into a completed PDF that can be filed or processed in a workflow.
Before you begin
-
The form has at least one submission. Submit a test entry if needed.
-
A PDF to place the data on. You can create one in Microsoft Word with File → Save As → PDF.
-
The GlobalForms PDF Designer, installed with GlobalCapture (
Square9.GlobalForms.Designer.exe).
Create a mapping
-
Open the GlobalForms PDF Designer and select New.
-
Choose your PDF. It opens in the Designer.
-
In the Form list, choose the form to map. Its submitted data appears in the Form Data table.
-
Drag fields from the Form Data table onto the PDF. Drag a placed field to move it; right-click it to change its properties or delete it.
-
Select Test to preview the mapping with real data.
-
Select Save. The mapping is now available to GlobalCapture workflows.
Field names in the Form Data table are the components' API keys (property names). You can see and change a component's key on its API tab in the form builder. Changing a key after mapping breaks that field's mapping.
Example files
Use the New Employee example form and PDF to practice the steps above. Import the form into GlobalForms, submit it once, then map it onto the PDF.
